Ever since writing my last manuscript, Black Marsh, blogging has suffered, engagement by me has dropped and writing has suffered in what can only be described as a creative hangover.
I once promised a blogging friend over at Aura With Writing, that I’d have a go at this challenge. Recently I was reminded of this, and thought it might be a good opportunity to get back into writing habits in short form rather than sit about pondering larger manuscripts. Especially when I have two projects that I want to progress over summer. One is a much procrastinated ending and the other is to re-engage Dragon Stone and continue Wayland’s journey into the unknown with The Black.
Whether or not I can complete April with a post a day is debatable, but as I say with respect to NaNoWriMo, any posts are better than no posts. Any writing is better than no writing.

Sign up is live until the end of this month and, as with ISWG, it’s a great way to find new bloggers with common writing goals. The aim is to post daily in April using each letter of the alphabet to create a prompt.

My blog is primarily a writing one, author spotlights, examples of my work and so forth. It also needs a theme upgrade although that’s an entirely different post.
Ergo, I’ve decided to try using my own writing to work through this challenge. There may be extracts, characters, creatures and all manner of things I’ve not had time to consider yet. That, and the odd quote or two.
The committed posts will remain unaffected and will take priority if time is short so
will all be dealt with as agreed. As will any new author spotlights that come in during the challenge. Just a quick punt there as I’m open to new ones coming in.

Lol, I have my moments…not often, but they do emerge now and then. I’m actually after feedback on the angle I’m taking too. A new creation came into being trying to navigate my manuscripts and it’s being done from that perspective. No idea if it’s what the Challenge is after, but it’s rather fascinating doing it…I think 🤔
I think you’re angle is good! You have an open writing-ish theme, and you’ll be following the a to z of it for the month! 🙂 I’ll be curious to see what comes of it. 😀
Ha, yes…a month… quite…put like that it’s a tad eek! I’m rather curious too, somethings generating a proper outside A to Z idea too 🤔

Thank you for joining me!!!😄😄 You will do grea! This should be fairly easier for you as you’ve aced NaNoWriMo already! As you mentioned, the whole point of this challenge is- Any writing is better than no writing. Atleast for the month of April. You can keep your posts short and crisp, that really helps to not feel hectic, as you have a lot going on offline. I’m pretty sure your followers will enjoy your offering everyday through April! 😊 Love the theme by the way, very useful for fellow budding bloggers like me and I’m confident you’ll do 100% justice 😁
Lol, not so sure. NaNo is easier for me as I write in a zone which enjoys longer depth. This is out of that comfort zone and requires way more thought. Even with respect to choosing what to do for each letter! I have four manuscripts and a plethora of newer material that I’m going to try and use. Not sure how it will pan out though…or if it will make sense! Kind of looking forward to trying though 😊
Yes, knowing what to write for each alphabet is winning half the battle! Also trying to post every day before the end of day is nerve racking yet fun😁 looking forward to reading your theme 😊😊
It’s rather different to conventional themes. It entered a stream of consciousness approach, to coin another bloggers term for it. Very much the same process as when I’m actually writing. This will give insight into what I do! 😱

I tried this challenge last year and unfortunately did not succeed, However, I am thinking about attempting it again this year, because I did find it helped me creatively, and sometimes just therapeutically. I wish you luck and look forward to your posts! 🙂
Spot on why I’m trying it this year Kelsey. I’ve hit a bit of a slump recently and need to kick start again. I always get hit just after a big writing project is finished and if I leave it too long motivation starts to fail. I’m hoping, like you, it has a therapeutic side that will get me going again.

Thanks Marje, productivity is why I’m doing it. Black Marsh was a long write and I need to get back on the wagon now. I’m hoping to use this to explore my books a bit too. 😊

Absolutely, mind you I’ve just done tomorrow’s and it’s altered direction as something new arrived in the process. It’s working creative wise already 😂
